Abstrak Kajian ini mengungkapkan bagaimana suatu episteme keilmuan Melayu muncul dalam konteks sosialnya. It is a precious heritage that must be preserved and studied by future generations. It can be seen in terms of the creation of the Jawi script and construct knowledge developed by scholars of the ancient Malay. Furthermore, the autobiographical book is a product of local Malay Muslims paramount. It is quite dynamic and still applies today. The construction of the indigenous Malay formula is unique because it is the result of the blending and synthesis between Islam and the Malay mind. With literature studies, this study found that awareness of the world community about the local native communities Europe can not be filled with local produce knowledge-based concept of Malay Muslims. This study reveals how science episteme Malay appears in their social context. This managed to unite the fighters in fighting against their enemies as well as driving out the British colonisers from continuing to colonise Pahang.

The revolt of Pahang at the end of 19th century succeeded in featuring two series of struggle between the British colonisers and the Pahang fighters. Therefore, new approaches need to be done to preserve this Malay heritage related to Jawi script which has long considered part of the identity of the Malays. While the aspect of writing Jawi letters, they face problems with relatively low achievement. Several studies conducted found that student achievement in reading Jawi is good.
Results of the study show that there are still positive prospects for Jawi writing in Malaysia. All the data are analyzed and presented according to specific themes. The study uses secondary data related to Jawi scripts and writings coupled with a survey on selected secondary school students" mastery of writing and reading Jawi script. Some of the research findings related to the study on Jawi writings will be analyzed, besides looking at the future prospects of the Jawi script in Malaysian context. This paper will therefore discuss the development of Jawi script and its association with the Malay community. Several studies conducted confirm the issue.
This also affects the reading of the Qur'an either among the young or old generations. The disadvantages of writing and reading Jawi writings amongst new generation of Malay Muslims are quite significant.
Lately, there are some issues related to Jawi script and writing. This is because most of the Jawi script uses Arabic letters in the Quran with some modification to suit the Malay pronunciation to some extents. Since decades, Jawi script has been growing rapidly among the Malay community and is associated with the mastery of the Quranic recitation. Jawi script is always associated with the identity of the Malay community.
